英英辞典読み 126ページ目：body guardからbollocksまで

今日の英英辞典読みでは、「bodyguard」という単語があり、意味が「a man or group of men whose job is to protect an important person」となっていました（1995年が初版の、Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionaryを紙媒体で読んでいます）。

一読して「いやいや、ボディガードが男性とは限らないでしょ…」と思って、オンライン版のOxford Leaners' Dictionaryで意味を調べてみたら、「a person or a group of people who are employed to protect somebody」となっていました。

やはり時代と共に言葉の意味も移り変わるんですね。
